2014年2月25日，在希腊旅游部长Olga Kefalogianni，阿提卡大区州长Yiannis Sgouros和希腊政党代表的一同见证下，希腊雅典经典马拉松赛发布了其全新的名称“雅典马拉松（ Athens Authentic Marathon）”和一个全新的形象标识。新标志简化并保留了一个奔跑的人物符号，并且加入了代表Marathon的字母符号“M”通过其视觉形象的演变和改进，呈现出经典马拉松赛全新的面孔。新形象由位于伦敦的设计公司LazoKakou设计。
