2013年12月22日，2014-2015赛季夏洛特山猫队将改名为夏洛特黄蜂队，在山猫主场迎战爵士的中场休息时间，山猫老板迈克尔乔丹公布了新赛季新队标。相比于原来的黄蜂队标，新队标黑灰蓝三色点缀显得凶悍十足，怒目相望、大鹏展翅以及巨长的毒刺给人一种望而生畏的感觉，彰显着山猫更名后欲强势反弹。
