国际爱护动物基金会（International Fund for Animal Welfare简称IFAW, www.ifaw.org.cn）作为全球最具影响的动物福利和保护组织，从诞生之日起，就与海豹结下了不解之缘。1969年，加拿大人Brian Davies和他的朋友，正是为了拯救加拿大遭残酷猎杀的琴海豹，而创立了IFAW。IFAW的标志就是一只双手呵护着的白袍琴海豹。
