REI成立于1938年，是美国也是全球最大的户外用品连锁零售组织，REI并没有相关的公告或者推出一个大规模的宣传活动来宣布自己更换新形象，而是低调的在其官方网站和社交网站中开始使用经过优化的新标识。根据最新的标识可以看出，新标识在之前旧标识的基础上优化树和山的元素，“REI”文字也做了相应的圆角处理。最显眼的莫过于新标志加入了美国的消费者合作社（CO-OP）的文字。
